Oofuri Review

Okiku Furikabutte or just Oofuri is a sports anime/manga that aired on television in 2007.
Following the life of a nervous pitcher, Mihashi Ren. It tells about him and his baseball team's wins and losses.
One of the cuter sports anime, it does not depict the team as an all dominating, every winning team. (Thank god!)
With two seasons each with about 24 episodes or so, the story takes unexpected twists and turns.

It takes place in Nisahura highschool first year where Mihashi has newly transferred from middle school.
The team is made up of every type of player that a team could need, each with their own struggles and strengths.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this anime and became quite obsessed with it during my "journey".

The animation itself is a little sketchy at times and isn't as consistent as anime you see nowadays but the story itself is heartwarming and frankly quite tear jerking.

  1. I'm really enjoying your reviews of individual anime films. As an anime neophyte, I could use an anime primer--a post that offers some background on anime as well as a "viewer's guide," i.e. look-fors, traits of anime, etc. Would you be able to do this?
